FLASH: Solution to Miscreant Buttons (Formerly Dumb newbie question)

Two really quick things .....


First I want to say thanks to all those that helped me

try to solve this problem and giving the gentle but

encouraging push (Helen and JD, thanks especially) to

keep my spirits up while I publish my first (although

scaled down until they pop with the cash, [evil grin]

) Flash page on the net.


And second ... the solution for the problem:


I had a friend of mine fluent in Flash (he's teaching

me a little) check my scripts and he said technically

it was good, but there is a little qwirk that

sometimes does what my SWF was doing.


I needed to label the first frame of each scene so

that instead of my AS looking like this:


On(Release)

  Goto and Play(Scene 3,1)

End On


it should look like this:


On(Release)

  Goto and Play(Scene 3,"label_name")

End On


where "label_name" is the frame I labeled at the

begining of each scene.


I know for some of the more proficent guys and gals

this might be something they do all the time, but I

thought I'd share a little something I learned at 9pm

Pacific time after staring at it for 3 hours and

having someone fix it in under a minute (and yes, it

torqued my lug nuts when he fixed it..... lol).
