I had buttons going to the wrong places a few times.

Most common reason is that the button has group inside of a group inside of

a group, plus there is a movie clip in the middle somewhere there and even a

button with a different action on it. Ungroup and simplify your layout as

much as you can.

The other reason: check all your instances. You might have one instance of a

button inside another. I had a problem when a single click took you to the

wrong place while doubleclick took you to the right one. It turned out to be

two instances of a button and one took you to another.


Also sometimes in the process you accidentally can set a button instance to

be a movie clip, Flash does not like that either.


In general, if Flash is confused what it's supposed to do, it takes you to

the first scene, first frame of the movie.
