Douglas,

I posted something about this a while back, but can't find it anywhere, so...

You can do this with ActionScript in a MC (that loops in F4, or with
onClipEvent(enterframe) in F5). The script will target the main timeline and
manually advance the frames.

To slow down, it will use a delay of some sort before sending the playhead to
the next frame. The delay can either be scripted or achieved by extending the
length/frames of the loop (F4).

To speed up, it will skip frames while running at the same framerate.
