FLASH: stupid timeline/MC problems

Hey all.


I've been extremely frustrated this past weekend with an FLA that I was

working on.  I was experimenting with a drop down-type collapsible list.  I

tried using movie clips to achieve this.  There is a different clip for the

2 different drop downs, and they are on two different frames, frame 2 and 3.

On frame one is the collapsed list with buttons going to the correct frame.


All works well, until after a menu has expanded.  I have the same buttons

(to collapse it again or go to another menu) located inside of the internal

movie clip, but they don't seem to be able to access the main timeline (go

to frame 3 of the main timeline).  I've tired labeling all sorts of things

in the hope that it would show up, but to no avail.


I'd appreciate any pointers.
