I'm sure it's possible through some programming using
the Win32 API... if you're a designer, you'll probably
have to hire someone on for that though...

Even if it's possible though, it's not really a good idea.
Some video cards might not support resolution changes
without a reboot, and some users might be angered at
the fact that you're toying with their settings. Some
cards might not support the resolution you require at
all. I'd assume that this functionality doesn't exist for
Director either, for the same reasons, but I really don't
know anything about Director.
