Subject: FLASH: Trouble using POST or GET in Projector
From: Mark Zukiwsky

I'm trying to send data to my server from a projector (versions 4.0
r7, both Mac and Windows) but nothing happens when I use POST or GET.
I recall there being a problem with a rev of the player that added an
ampersand, but I believe that was r20 and r25.

If I ask my server to process a CGI without adding the variables it
returns the processed CGI, with the error message that I didn't
include any variables of course, but once I use POST or GET nothing
happens. If I simply append the data as a string to the URL and
select "Don't Send" variables, it works okay. Any ideas, or do POST
or GET not work with a projector?

As well, when I appended my data string to the URL, I noticed that
Internet Explorer 5.0 on the PC only processed shorter strings,
anything less than 400 characters. On the Mac it processed longer
URLs with no problem. Is there a maximum length the URL string can be
on the PC?

Thanks in advance.
