Subject: | FLASH: fonts & flash |

I built a few fla's on a Windows NT box which became unstable. I moved them
over to
my Windows 98 laptop, continued working on them and then punched the swf's
out to
my server. Well, the fonts were kind of funky: italicized text was
extra-italicized,
triggers that were laid over text were misaligned... I figured the fonts
must not be
the same on the laptop but I checked and they were all in there - not in the
Fonts folder
in the Control Panels, but in the font list that displays when I open ATM.
Anyway, just
in case they were different, I overwrote them with fonts I pulled off the NT
box. The
only difference, in the end, was that on the NT box, the fonts could live in
the Fonts
folder in Control Panels, whereas 98 wouldn't allow me to put them there but
seemed to
be fine with them in ATM. To make a long story short, the only way I could
get the fonts
in my movies right, was by porting the fla's back to the NT box, crossing my
fingers that
it would work long enough to compile them into swf's, and then get the swf's
off. I'd
sure like to be able to work on these fla's on my laptop without having to
move every
single piece of text to adjust for the disparity. Any help is greatly
appreciated? The
desktop machine is really unstable and I hate depending on it right now.
Thanks,
Ted
