It just seems that "stuff" happens when I write something in Director,
even if it isn't always what I expect, but "nothing" happens in Flash (4).

A big THANK YOU to the three respondees and any that I haven't
seen yet! You guys are great. I had been using "_root", as I read in a
thread at Flashkit but it was getting me nowhere. "_level0" did the trick,
and yes, I found it in the manual, too--- after being told politely to rtfm...
Now, I can get on with things...
