sorry i don't remember who it was from, but there was a post about this
earlier this week. the way that person (& I) fake it is with a cutout
circular mask. put a nice map of the world behind it and move the map.
search for his post, he offered to email his file. another way to do it is
the old-fashioned way. make it in your 3d app, render it out as a series of
bitmaps, import it into flash, and trace them. or you could just do it in 5
minutes on a pc with Swift3d.

I've been offered a job making a 3D spinning globe in Flash. I work on a Mac
and Swift 3D for mac isn't coming out until October and this job is a real
quickie. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.
