The only way you can be sure about this is to benchmark the kinds of

applications you are likely to run.


The other thing you should consider is that the speed of the language is

only going to be relevant if your site is maxed out. There are so many

variables that control speed, and programming language is only one of them. 


Also consider this: if speed is such a major consideration, why are you

developing in either vbscript or jscript and not vb or even c++?


Bottom line: run a test - set your vbscript programmers against your jscript

programmers and see who can create the fastest ASP pages. 


Personally I like server-side javascript because of the try/catch error

handling it offers. Its much harder to write a vbscript program that

responds to errors capably.
