event website make; it is the multi-disciplinary team, strategy, design, process and know how that do that. There are a number of products that might be suitable. Any one of them can be made to create a fully featured event site. If you are looking at site functionality that is anything more than =91out = of the box=92 (which it appears you are not), or any type of system integrati= on (e.g payment, CRM, fulfilment, online marketing, social media, CMS, ecommerce, event inventory etc) which a big event site would require, then the team and their process is what will make it sing for you. You could do a lot worse that to consider development process (like Agile, say) as being more important than the platform too. The right team with the right process will make the right platform(s) do the Olympic-a-like thing, after identifying the right platform(s) to meet your emergent requirements.
