Hi Caroline It can be seen as a 'forgotten' link, one that's included because it usually is without really thinking through the strategy and potential benefits. So, you are right to raise this. I have seen brilliant results from making more of this in appropriate circumstances, like incentivising surveys or competitions. So a big Call to Action, not just a link in those circumstances. Tracking and segmenting 'brand ambassadors' however, seems very sensible as mentioned by Laura at Silverpop. On balance, and I get your emails, I would think about pulling the forward link up to the top of the email and also I would add a 'web preview' link at the top too. Make sure you look at your emails in different browsers/with images off and on (Litmus is good for this). As Paul suggests, play with different options and track/test the results. Hope that helps. Nothing wrong with that but to persuade me to subscribe, I’d need a compelling reason. What’s the strongest proposition you can make? Do you offer unique insights, in-depth analysis, helpful tips etc etc? > > As with any other form of digi comms, you can test different offers over time and see which ones get the best results.
