Hi Caroline I think in specific sectors they can be handy. Some work we did in the sports tours market showed real value in FtF on web pages and emails because the natural buyer behaviour was 1 person booking for many friends, and they valued this as a service. The value of people who used it was way up against people who didn't, even after discounting those who had used it AFTER booking (quite a few). You'll know whether the logic might apply to your sector? jd John Duffy Marketing Director Description: cid:3351500905_1077630 www.nemisys.uk.com john at nemisys.uk.com blog <http://www.nemisys.uk.com/blogs/nemisys/Default.asp?authorID=3&utm_source=C ompanyEmail&utm_medium=email&utm_term=signature&utm_content=jd&utm_campaign= Gmail> linkedin <http://www.linkedin.com/in/johnrduffy> slideshare <http://www.slideshare.net/johnrduffy/presentations> @johnrduffy <http://twitter.com/#!/johnrduffy> @nemisys <http://twitter.com/#!/nemisys> Support & switchboard: 0844 706 9665 Support email: support at nemisys.uk.com Direct: +44 (0)118 9122226 Mobile: +44 (0)7887 731799 From: uk-netmarketing-bounces at mm.chinwag.com [mailto:uk-netmarketing-bounces at mm.chinwag.com] On Behalf Of Caroline Bottomley Sent: 06 August 2012 08:00 To: uk-netmarketing Subject: [uk-netmarketing] forward to a friend? Hi Chinwag, Does anyone have a view on the value of this link at the end of an email? Everyone knows how to forward an email to a friend without needing a hotlink for it. I'm not sure the prompt is particularly effective - I'm sure I'd have the thought before seeing the link and pretty certain the link wouldn't make me thing 'oh I should forward this to my friend'. And I'm a fan of stripping out everything unnecessary. But, writing this, I realise I might be prompted to send to a friend - so maybe we should keep it and change the wording? Any thoughts esteemed marketers? best C Caroline Bottomley @radarmusicvideo <http://twitter.com/#!/radarmusicvideo> facebook <http://www.facebook.com/RadarMusicVideos> RadarMusicVideos <http://www.radarmusicvideos.com/> News about briefs, commissions and Radar-made videos <http://eepurl.com/1Nzs> -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
