A good rant.... been ages: For my part - it is making everyone and i mean "everyone" in this industry, many of whom have given no time or consideration at all to the legality or ethic or morality of their practice, a bloody good shake. If you weren't doing anything malicious, anything dodgy, or anything exploitative, you're really probably going to be alright. A bunch of people who have written up no better alternative structure for what they believe would be a "good law" ---- There's a counterpoint that digital advertising ought to consider, which is that most people are not in our industry, and we need our tree shaked. Or, do we think zombie cookies are "perfectly fine"! I've a company that is likely to benefit significantly from servicing advertisers and companies who care about their privacy policies, and don't like them being broken by their staff, by their customer service team, or their sales team, or their creative and media agencies.... and i "LIKE" the fact that everyone is having to "THINK" about how they design and build their digital business with respect to the rights of the people of the country and region in which we live. Were i to rant, it would be at the persistent spinelessness of an EU body that has failed to levy a single meaningful penalty against an offending and breaching US company.
