It's already started.
Check out this Red Herring article on how companies are dropping the dotcom
from their names in a fit of reverse snobbery.

Actually Gameplay are at the vanguard of this:
'"We are not just a flaky dot-com whose business is based on ad revenues,"
sniffed Mark Bernstein, CEO of Gameplay.'
The once proud suffix, is now a byword for greedy, IPO-crazed companies with
built-on-sand business models. Smart companies are starting to divorce
themselves from its tainted image and revert to poper names. Watch as a
flurry of reed-in-the-wind marketeers do likewise in the near future.
For the more anarchic of you, go to http://www.blowthedotoutyourass.com,
download the posters and affix to whatever overcrowded ad space you can.
And, finally, if you think that e-everything has gone beyond the ridiculous,

the Alphabet at http://www.persistence.com/e-nough/index.html
