I'm not remotely recommending people should try to cheat the figures in any
way - apart from anything else, that sort of thing would probably be pretty
transparent when compared against unique users (i.e., one month users are
looking at 10 pages each, the next they appear to be looking at 100 pages
each!). And it would be very short-termist.
Obviously people should behave ethically and only count genuine PIs - but
then again, people shouldn't spam, 'secretly' infiltrate newsgroups or any
number of other unethical things which go on in the name of internet
marketing (NB: anyone else find it strange that there are some companies
who send out press releases to the trade announcing their guerilla marketing
activity? I've see this a couple of times over the last few months and it
seems to somehow be missing the point)

Emily, *please* tell me that you're not implying that people should welsh
their impressions numbers by including spiders in the traffic stats. If so,
you might want to read an ABC definition (actually, that might not help
sooooo much), or at least start thinking of a slightly more ethical
definition of a page impression.
What year is this?
