Why not set one up informally?
We could set up a place to store best practice material. This would be
beneficial to all.
Fantastic Idea!

I'm not sure a 'union' is really what is needed, more of a proffesional
association. To promote best practice, high standards and lobby the
government on legislation in the new media field, such as online-taxation
and censorship. Provide legal advice. To be a point of referance to
educational institutons regarding planning degree courses, etc. More along
the lines of the BMA rather than the TGWU.
So as to be a member looks benifitial and professional to employers rather
than 'I'm going to down tools if I don't get a coffee break.'
We are all highly paid proffesionals not factory workers on minimum wage.
(One would hope..)

I agree, but it raises some perplexing issues. Also, if we go on strike it's
hardly going to be like Orgreave - do we foresake our Apricot Lattes in the
name of
unity, or refuse to oil our scooters in memory of the Jarrow March?
