isn't this just a sad indictment of the UK Govt, that our emails need
converting to fax to be read (no really, they read every fax they get)? As
usual, our friends in the States are a step ahead, with the beautifully
named http://www.mrsmith.com/. I do have a connection with this site, in
that I share a surname with it, and a few others.

If this sort of thing (open communication from the public to elected
representatives) is of interest, might be worth also checking out
www.yougov.com which "intends to promote open government by making
service-providers more accountable, developing the mechanism of best value
and creating a new partnership between government and its stakeholders, the
citizens."
I don't have any particular connection with this site, incidentally, beyond
knowing the COO in a personal capacity.
