Subject: UKNM: What to do to make it pay...
From: Archer, Jon

Hi,

Myself and a small group of friends own the domain name www.6nations.co.uk
<http://www.6nations.co.uk> which, unsurprisingly, is a site dedicated to
the Six Nations Rugby tournament. We're fast approaching our second season
of covering the tournament (it runs Feb - Apr 2001) and find ourselves
already getting around 2000 page requests daily. From our experiences during
the year 2000 tournament (we got 15000 page requests avg. per day) where we
had very limited bandwidth and no promotion as such we feel certain this is
going to grow massively for the next season. We reckon easily 40,000 per day
during the tournament this year.

My question is, how the heck do we make some money out of this, besides the
obvious affiliate programs?

Specifically, we seem to be completely unable to sell advertising space -
should we be using an agency or broker of some kind? Could we sell the site?

Any comments or advice very gratefully received.

Regards,

Jon
