Mailing lists - the low-down...

I have been asked to look into mailing lists, what's reputable, what's not,

and are they worth it. 


Has anyone out there got any first hand knowledge of mailing lists - I need

some objective feedback, and not the sales patter I am likely to receive if

I contact one of these organisations.
