I don't object to Flash per se, I just get worked up about what its
miuse indicates about a design firm.

Its like this: You know how a woman is much liklier to strike up a
conversation with some bloke in the park if said bloke is walking a
dog? This isn't because women have an innate fondness for dogs, its
because a bloke with a dog has a little advert-on-a-leash which says
"This man is capable of caring for another living creature besides
himself." As we say in the States, chicks dig that.
So it is with clients and web shops - most clients don't know most
shops, so they look for those advert-on-a-leash signs that any given
shop may be worth spending time with, and ground zero is the work
displayed on their own site. Its not that putting contact information
in an upfront and easy to use format is in itself such a brainstorm,
its just something which says "This web shop is capable of looking at
their work from the user's point of view, and not just as a potential
entry in a magazine competition." Clients dig that.
>(and why swear while doing it?)
I'm from Brooklyn.
