Both these threads may be coming together. I've just heard from a friend that

develops business plans for intranet web-sites that he's had two venture

capitalists call him since the Freeserve flotation to ask him to run ideas past

them again. Ideas, that is, that they pooh-poohed a few months back. He's had a

third phone call from a company he pitched an intranet web-site to a few days

ago asking him to come back. He says the venture capitalists kept talking about

Freeserve's float.


"That day will be known as the turning point in British ecommerce," he said.


Or maybe the starting point...
