Anyone else notice the rather interesting contradiction in Matthew Freud's
winning announcements:

I paraphrase:
1. Before awarding first prize to schoolsforschools.com he said: This is not
about the people. They are all passionate and committed and no doubt will go
on to succeed. It is about the business ideas and what the consortium can do
to help make them succeed.
2. Before awarding the same amount of money to youreable.com he said: There
are no runners up. We want to invest one million pounds in Joe.

I took that to mean:
1. This is one should work really well from an investment point of view.
Thanks for the idea. You can have the title of 'President' but we don't have
any faith in your ability to run this business, so we won't let you.
2. This idea is a natural web property, but has shaky commercial
fundamentals. Joe, however, is such an inspiration, got a good head on his
shoulders, knows his weaknesses, will be a great leader. We'll back him -
along with our fabulous abilities - to make this work.

Some tips for those of us in pursuit of backing, methinks.

Steve.
