Subject: | RE: UKNM: Boo.com's demise? |

To quote one source:
"The London, UK company, which has spent tens of millions of pounds since
its launch last November, is running short of cash, having reported
consistently poor sales which led to the lay-off of about 70 employees. This
has left the shareholders with few prospects of raising additional funds,
leaving only one clear option - to sell up."
I know what went wrong - the site was unusable. Those who attended the
usability conference in London would have seen boo used as a 'how not to
create a site'. Business wise - fair enough proposal. The advertising (BMP I
believe) was good. I even though miss boo was a good idea if done correctly.
In short, as with many sites and electronic products, it was killed by a bad
user experience. I've said this before - but just in case anyone was
sleeping at the back and blaming the technology or business model.
