UKNM: new yell site

one of the most heavily marketed sites in the UK. 


new site redesign:


not a single piece of HTML text. no optimisation of the images that are

there. no ALT tags. 


took over a minute to download a simple three element form on a 56k

modem. Exactly the same visual design properly implemented, could

probably be done in less than a quarter of the size. 


very '95. Totally unprofessional. I'm posting this here in the hope that

someone from yell is a lurker and can go and clunk their designers round

the head. 


anyway, the site's crashed, so it's all academic at the mo. 


[Sam says: I posted this through because I thought a re-design would be of interest to list members, not for a long convoluted conversation about the merits of DHTML versus Flash, etc.]
