A pretty poor one, too. Imagine a television programme in which the

advertisements were broadcast all the way throughout the programme in a

little box at the top of the screen - you'd get annoyed, and then you'd

ignore them. Or a magazine in which the advertisements were huddled in the

margin. Advertisements need to grab the user, and a tiny flickering

rectangle that I am ignoring does not do it for me.

The alternative, however, is to have a full-screen pop-up window with a

Flash advertisement whenever you click on any button, which might be even

worse. The thick plottens.
