Every consumer goods company that I have known over the last few years
starts quaking in their boots when they think of going to tell the retailers
that they have started selling direct over the web. You cannot link to the
retailers from your site as you cannot be seen to favour one group over
another. If you decide to go with the majors only, where does that leave
your business in independent stores?

Does anybody know of a consumer/retail brand that has managed to overcome
this problem?

Consumer retail brands rely onthe goodwill of consumers

retailers like wise rely on the goodwill of consumers

so there isn't necessarily a conflict

there is however an increase in exposure and increase in choice

This benefits everyone

Ahhhh utopia.
