Although Steve Johnson's comments (the loneliness of the long distance

freelancer) are extremely valid - I occassionally have a social blitz when I

get too isolated and am more than used to having my name stripped off of

reports, the typeface changed and hey presto I never existed (which once or

twice has also been the case with my invoice).


Six years ago plus I had a problem with self-confidence( yeah I know,

believe it) so the professional help in negotiation skills/standing up for

myself came via my then therapist as part of a general effort to get my act

together; a process which took some time!


I can recommend someone for projecting confidence through physical presence

with a focus on business skills; he's great for presentation skills too. His

name's Mike and he runs Re:Actor. He uses drama techniques and he isn't

cheap.


We've lost touch but I can easily track him down - if anyone wants details

mail me off-list.


Alternatively I'm helping a mate who also runs workshops based on drama

techniques to get set up; he might be interested in doing one on one

negotiation skills as a group session. I'll ask.

One final thing - don't ever work as a freelancer for Computacenter - they

don't like paying for at least 90 days.
