My tuppence worth on this thread, started by the great rant attributed to
Larry (I don't really care if it is true or not - made me laugh anyway).

I must be doing something wrong - dropped out, experienced life, then
dropped-in and slogged through an Open University degree that opened up a
new door for me, but did little else. I went through the door opened by the
degree and then used the life experience subsequently, but I'm still not CEO
of a multi-million dollar international company. Perhaps the quality of
life experience and/or the quality of the University were not up to scratch,
but hey, I enjoyed both.

Like life, there is no "staff answer". Do what feels right, but most
importantly, take ownership of the consequences.
