You can 'deregister' domains both in the US and UK by contacting nominet
(UK) or the relevant US company... it does take a while to go through,
though (Network Solutions say up to 6 months in the US). A better way to do
it is to transfer the domains, which can be done relatively easily and
quickly... again contact nominet or network solutions for info as I don't
have the details to hand.
