Actually, it's a lot easier than that. For example, the only brush with libel
I've ever had involved a case where a review I'd edited claimed that "company X
is renowned for its poor interfaces". Now that's (in this case) actually true,
but virtually impossible to defend. The most common forms of libel are like
that: throw away remarks, usually not necessary for the work except in terms of
its tone.

Other common libels are in headlines (where subs tend to go for 'punchy' rather
than accurate, and editors are half asleep) and images.
