Alas, depending on who you speak to will let you know what click-thrus are
like...
some sales folk will say they have excellent "click thrus"....but in terms
of averages, well...around 0.5% seems about right, but I have seen much
lower and indeed much higher.
Focused banners placed on focused sections of sites, will have a much higher
click thru in general, whereas, placing a generic banner in run of site, may
not have a high click thru. best to always try to target your banners as
much as possible so atleast it is going to be before the right audience you
are aiming at... eg: baby food banner on a mens lifestyle site is unlikely
to get much interest, whereas on a baby site it will..

Does anyone have the most up to date figure for the average internet banner
clickthrough rate? I thought it was around 0.5% but some of the guys in my
office say that it's much lower than this now.
Also, do any of you have any views on the best ad server software to adopt?
