Very true. I had a experience where I ended up getting a much cheaper price

over the phone just because I asked for a "group discount".


This was more than a month ago and the precise price eludes me. The sites

quoted me a price of around �90 for 3 return tickets from London Euston to

Manchester. On a whim I called up the booking phone number and was first

quoted the same price for 3 tickets. I then asked if they had any kind of

"group discounts" going. I was then given a price of around �50 for 4

tickets !! Which I naturally went ahead and booked and travelled with a

extra empty seat.  I have not booked over the phone after this incident so I

can't tell if this was a one off, but made me very cynical about the site.
