Apart from Retail Decisions, Secure Trading...

The question was about address verification. There are a number of 'card
hotlist' and 'pattern matching' offerings around, which seek to identify
potentially fraudulent transactions. A lot of them (including some internal
bank checks) use e-falcon software.

In which connection, watch this space!

The Equifax offering is up and running in the US and I saw a demo using UK
info:

http://www.equifaxsecure.com/identityverification/iv_products.html

It runs you through a series of questions about your personal financial
history, eg

'You have a mortgage from one of the following, which is it?
Bristol&West/HSBC/Barclays/None of the above'

Then after about four of these they OK you.

Expensive though.

There is no UK address verification yet. Equifax were promising a service
that would improve the failure rates of Card Not Present transactions, but I
have heard nothing more. The only company in the UK offering any sort of
online fraud prevention service is Cybersource.com

Good guys, good product.

Steve.
