F**k the technology & software providers - it's the CONTENT
owners/publishers who should dictate the platform. If you have a successful
site with a loyal audience then they will download whatever player they
require to access your top content.
We used Real's technology for four years before we switched over to Windows
Media - it certainly didn't kill our site. In fact traffic/data transfer has
quadrupled in the past 6 months.
At the end of the day, choose what platform meets your requirements and run
with it - don't be swayed by populist opinion. Each format has its strengths
and weaknesses - Windows media's main strengths being that it is easy to
deploy and the software is free.
