Ladies and Gentlemen,

Did you know that legendary Radio 1 DJ John Peel had a collection of about
26,000 LPs?

Since May we've been unveiling Peel's vast record collection from A-Z. We're
up to letter X and the featured artist is none other than XTC.

With almost one third of Peel's X albums being XTC it wasn't hard to decide
who should represent X. 

Check out this clip featuring John's wife Sheila Ravenscroft introducing XTC
and front man Andy Partridge explaining why the band owe such a debt of
gratitude to John.

The unveiling of John Peel's record collection is part of our ongoing
digital PR and social media strategy for digital arts service The Space, a
joint initiative by the Arts Council England in partnership with the BBC.
