This will be the first meetup of the new school year and in the spirit of back to school, we thought you should learn a few rules which will see you all in good stead for the rest of the year. As part of a wider initiative on the mechanics of fundraising and selling equity in a private business, Bootlaw is addressing the legalities of selling investments.
You should already be aware that this is a highly regulated field which is policed by the Financial Services Authority, and includes the promotion of financial investments.
We're going to take you through the dos and don'ts of marketing and selling your shares to private investors and VCs and, as always, dispense practical advice to keep you safe and legal.
If you've got any specific questions in advance, you can give them to us when you RSVP.
The meeting will take the usual format of:
6.30pm - Doors open, networking, beer
7pm - Law bit
8pm - More beer, pizza and networking
9pm - Head to pub, purchase beer for lawyers.
