Description

Government 2.0 is about bringing the principles and value of the web as a platform to the business of governing. Lots of people are talking about it. Who's doing it? On September 8 we'll hear from some of those who've planned and/or deployed a Government 2.0 project and have lessons to share.

Gov 2.0 Expo Showcase is a one-day event that previews the larger Gov 2.0 Expo scheduled for May 2010. The practical, cutting-edge efforts it highlights, married with a profound shift in thinking across the government, are helping to build what Tim O'Reilly has called "government as a platform." On September 8 in Washington DC, 24 innovators will show how this is really happening, concretely, right now, inside (and outside) government.

Gov 2.0 Expo Showcase occurs the day before the Gov 2.0 Summit, an invitation-only gathering of the leadership responsible for this agenda. Registration for the two events are separate. While the Gov 2.0 Summit is restricted in its attendance, the Gov 2.0 Expo Showcase (like the Gov 2.0 Expo in 2010) is open to all interested parties, and is intended to bring the wider community of gov 2.0 advocates and practitioners together.
