Description

Wired City Reconnected is partnering with Cobbetts LLP and Kendal ICT Cluster to organise the first Kendal  'collaborative' networking event for the digital, creative and ICT sector.

The event will commence with a presentation from Susan Hall on  Protecting Your Business IPAvoid getting there!” (Looking at stages and actions available to protect your business’s Intellectual Property by avoiding putting your business in the position of IP risk in the first place) Defending your business against an intellectual property threat - whether an accusation that you have infringed third party rights or someone else's attack on your intellectual property - is neither enjoyable nor cheap.  This talk runs through a number of low cost, pro-active strategies which businesses can adopt to minimise intellectual property risks and position themselves to cope better with such risks as do arise.  It will include discussions of different types of intellectual property and the means of protecting it, as well as consideration of non-disclosure agreements, IP provisions in employee contracts, and practical protection of intellectual property in a work environment.

The presentation will be followed by “collaborative networking” facilitated by the Wired City Reconnected team

We are looking to invite businesses from  the local area of Kendal, Lancaster, Penrith, Barrow as well as any interested businesses from Preston, Blackpool and East / West Lancashire. But businesses from beyond the Cumbria / Lancashire area are welcome to network and exchange business opportunities.

The events will be facilitate by Les and Immy to provide structured 'collaborative' business networking opportunities....and calls for collaboration will be published shortly.
