Description

Two influential digital communications leaders will speak at the 3rd instalment of the ‘Cogs Talks’ series on Tuesday, 10th May 2011 from 7 to 10 pm at The Hospital Club in London. The talks aim to bring together industry leaders across the digital and communications space to discuss and debate the merits of innovation, technology and social media in business.

Guest speakers Chris Reed, managing partner of Brew and 77 Social (within the Fishburn Hedges Group), and Will Francis, social media consultant and founder of Harkable, will present on the topic of ‘Change.’ Their presentations will be followed by Q&A, drinks and food.

Ever since he started programming his ZX81, Chris Reed has been fascinated by technology. He started blogging on a trip round the world in 2000, and hasn’t looked back since. In recent years Chris has been working with clients to dovetail their digital, traditional and customer service communications, particularly helping international businesses prepare for (and then deal with) social/traditional media crises, and training staff in social media best practice.

Named by The Telegraph as one of the ‘Top 5 Most Influential Techy Britons,’ Will Francis developed a large Twitter following during his time as editor of the Comedy Channel, thanks in part to his live and interactive interviews with key global talent including Justin Bieber, Cheryl Cole, Ricky Gervais and Russell Brand. After leaving his post of UK Editor in 2010, he has gone on to work with some of the UK's top brands on their social strategy. He blogs on willfrancis.com.

Previous Cogs Talks have featured Andy Kinsella, innovations director at Glue London, and Ben Scott Robinson, director at We Love Mobile.

Tickets to the event are free, but due to the intimate nature of the series, only 50 are available. To secure a ticket, please send an email to CogsTalksatcogsagency [dot] com, call 0207 749 0777 or send a Tweet to @CogsTalks. A podcast and video highlights of the evening will be available to download afterwards. For anyone unable to make the event, speakers and participants will be Tweeting thoughts and questions live using #CogsTalks on the evening.
