Description

This one-day seminar is designed to bring delegates up-to-speed with the latest developments in data journalism and how to integrate the practice into training for journalists.  Data journalism isn’t new but the accessibility and volume of available data and the ways it can be used to generate stories for different platforms mean it is an even more important skill for modern journalists.

As well as learning from the experts, delegates will be encouraged to share their own practice and experience.

Programme includes:

  • How to source data
  • The tools and technology used
  • Demonstrations from industry professionals
  • Financial data journalism
  • Data journalists at work
  • Using data from FOI requests
  • Practical elements and an interactive session

Who should attend?

The programme has been designed for anyone in journalism education and training with an involvement or interest in data journalism.  The seminar is open to trainers, editors, journalists and journalism educators.
