‘Speed dating’ - How to find your perfect partner
In this track you will have the opportunity to meet a selection of different companies who are recruiting for UX roles. Each interview lasts 5 minutes, then on to the next one!
To make the most of this event, be sure to come prepared. Here are a few quick tips:
- Research the companies before attending the event
- Update and refine your CV (or better yet: customise it for each company)
- Bring business cards, your portfolio, or something that will make you memorable
- Bring a notepad and pen
Please note that this part of the evening is first come, first served. Arrive early to avoid disappointment. Don't forget, if you would like your CV to be shared with the exhibiting employers please email it to academicuxpa-uk [dot] org (Raj).
Q&A Panel - how to get the best out of interviews
"Tell me something that didn't go well?" Have you ever been asked this in an interview? In today's ultra-competitive job market, you can expect to face increasingly challenging questions in job interviews, often from senior managers.
While the speed dating is running, this Q&A panel - hosted by Be Kaler (from Futureheads) - will explore how the UX interview process has changed and give you practical guidance to help you face even the toughest interviewer.
Joining Be on the panel will be Lewis Milford, Global Talent Acquisition at Nokia; Jonathan Culling, UX Director at Foolproof; and Craig Le Grice, tech and start-up strategist.
UX Booths - get professional feedback on your CV, portfolio & more
Improve your skills and develop your talent at the booths in the networking area from 8:00pm. Drop by for one-on-one help on your CV and portfolio from Joe Harvey, Ash McGann, Rasha Hassan, Tim Harris, and Emilie De Guffroy.
