The Lean Start-Up: How to Build a Strong Business Model in Times of Uncertainty

By Ben Mumby-Croft (City University London)

We always like to do one "back to basics" session at the start of term, and this is the one for you if you want to step back a bit and re-consider what you are doing in terms of business model.

In this hands-on workshop, we will explore some of the new business tools and approaches being used by companies and entrepreneurs to create new products and services, remain competitive and innovate in times of uncertainty.

From Customer Development, to Lean Startup, Business Model Canvas and beyond, this session will give you the insight and skills you need to get your idea off the ground, stay afloat, and then iterate your way to success.

Prerequisites: You should be an enthusiastic individual who is in the process of starting a business, who has already started and is looking for the next iteration in your business model, or an established company that is looking for new approaches to better innovate internally.
