Speakers Steven Sandford

If you want someone to look after your entire finance function, giving you peace of your mind to work on your startup, Steven and Davis Grant are the go to people. Steven has worked with 30+ tech startups in the last 4 years and combines this knowledge together with 14 years of core accounts, audit and tax experience at Davis Grant. Steven has a particular expertise in S/EIS compliance, R&D tax credits and investor requirements, both with traditional angel and private equity funding as well as crowd funding platforms. Steven is invited to host the bi-monthly accounting clinic/office hours at TechHub at Google Campus as well as providing accounting masterclasses at the Royal College of Art and Innovation and previously at Wayra. He is also a Tech London Advocate.

Kyri Papantoniou, Partner, Judge Sykes Frixou Solicitors

Advising on a broad range of corporate transactions and commercial projects, particularly in the M&A market, Kyri represents clients including owner-managers, start-up companies, management teams and international companies. Kyri has strong client relationships within the digital business, technology and telecoms sectors and with a proven track record of delivering value-added business solutions, he is an effective project leader who is consistently praised for his entrepreneurial flair and for applying a commercial, pro-active and hands-on approach to every instruction. He has a diverse range of cross border legal experience, having served with a top tier UK law firm and a New York corporate finance law firm.

Michael Stephanblome

Michael is currently the CEO and co-founder of startup Typeless. Michael has an extensive background in general management, marketing, sales and product development both in small and large growth businesses and a deep knowledge of strategic marketing with regards to online marketplaces. Michael’s experience comes from having been the Managing Director of Gumtree.com as well as eBay's Marketing Director in Germany for over three years. In addition, Michael’s own startup Adjug achieved a successful exit in 2013 and he has invested in a number of startups, one being TechHub resident Toothpick.

Debu Purkayastha

Debu Purkayastha is currently Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR) at Octopus Investments & is also an Industrial Advisor to EQT. Debu has significant operating & deal experience - in US, Europe & Asia. Prior to Octopus Debu spent 6 years at Google as Principal - New Business Development at Google, and previously as Google's Principal - Corporate Development. Debu is also a founding member of Google “Campus” and sits on a number of Boards. Prior to Google, Debu headed Sabre's Corporate Development/M&A team & in a past life was a Telecoms/Media/Technology M&A Banker with Salomon Smith Barney/Citigroup in Wall Street, Silicon Valley & London.
