Implementing the Teaching Excellence Framework
Event Info
Description
This timely seminar will focus on teaching quality in higher education and the introduction of the ‘Teaching Excellence Framework’ (TEF).
Delegates - including key policy makers and stakeholders from universities - will discuss proposals for the introduction of the TEF which were outlined in the recent Higher Education Green Paper, including the impact of the TEF on universities and students, implications of linking TEF results to tuition fee increases and strategies for effectively measuring teaching quality.
Further planned sessions look at how to support university staff to deliver high quality curricula, encouraging innovative course design and how to include diverse forms of higher education provision - for example two-year degrees, online learning and Degree Apprenticeships - within the framework, along with concerns about the effects on the quality of provision of the ‘casualisation’ of teaching contracts in some parts of the sector.
