Since your server software is Apache you can indeed set MIME by the

directory.

This is a very lazy answer by your ISP. 

It is best not to set MIME for Flash by .htaccess but adding one more

will not cause any problem. It is possible that the MIME for Flash and

you should check for director too is already set.

First test to see if the MIME is set for Flash using the test procedure

with Netscape or just upload the test file set which makes it easier to

be100% about whether the MIME is set or not. Don't upload a 100K Flash

file to test for MIME as you have to wait for it to completely load

before you can test.

The MIME file set and all the info you neeed including instructions for

Apache are at FC. Note, .htaccess instructions are at the bottom of the

Apache page as I recall.
