Please note: you can do this within Photoshop 5.5 by using the "Save For
Web" option and choosing 24-bit PNG. In my experience, the transparency
isn't maintained using the Export option, but it is using "Save For Web."
Also, I've been finding that 32-bit PICT (on the Mac) also preserves
transparency and generates a slightly smaller and cleaner file than PNG.
Just based on personal experience; I've got no stats to support that. You
might want to try it yourself.
