Excellent! Thanks, John. I'll give those links a good looking through,
and if I find anything of particular pertinence, I will get back to y'all!
Please note the tendencies, as pointed out in your post, of larger
web-based corps to assume (word chosen with care) a high degree of
ownership. My spin on that has 2 twists: enforceability of copyright by
individuals is for all intents and purposes nonexistant (despite
threats/dares I've gotten off-list to the contrary), and there is very
likely a significant amount of legal advice out there that indicates that
posting electronically to a public place is in some way less copyrightable
than other media.
This, except for the noted exception above, will be my last posting on the
subject. I leave subdued by the level of hostility displayed by a few
members of this list, as well as surprised by the willingness of so many to
offer either subjective opinion in the face of a request for hard fact, or
encouragement to go ahead anyway whilst I am in the midst of a discovery
vis-a-vis legality.
Thank you, John C., for your patience and generally gentlemanly demeanor in
what some regarded as a cat-fight. I've done flame wars... I'm actually
quite good at them (enjoy them, frankly!)... this was by no means any such
exercise.
