FLASH: trouble reading from CGI script

My colleague wrote a simple Perl script containing 3 name/value pairs

that I'm trying to access from Flash.  I copied his script into a text file and

Flash is reading those very easily, so I know the Flash programming is okay.

The error I get when I try to access the same variables from his script is odd:

Error opening URL.  The prob is, the URL Flash is trying to open is incomplete.

I can't get Flash to understand more than half the URL.  Is there a character

limit to the URLs Flash can read?  


Another odd problem: the swf loses the textbox borders when embedded in an HTML

page; text borders show up fine in standalone player.
