FLASH: alpha doesnt work on a symbol

Hi,


I have this logo in AI format (PC) that was imported to Flash3 and converted to a symbol. But I cant make the alpha effect work on it! I have tried breaking apart and all other workarounds I could think of (not so many). Are there any limitations to the original file, or what am I doing wrong?
